We understand how frustrating it can be to expect high response rates only to see the numbers fall short. If your email campaign isn’t delivering the results you hoped for, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered with actionable strategies to help!
In this article, we’ll guide you through simple yet effective tactics that will boost your email response rates. Whether you’re reaching out for collaborations or partnerships, these tips will help you craft emails that stand out and drive engagement.
1. Use Compelling Subject Lines
Your subject line is the first thing your influencers will see, so make it count. Outside of our in-platform templates, here are a few proven examples that can spark interest:
Pro tip: Try using a question mark (?) in your subject line! We’ve found that questions can spark curiosity and encourage influencers to open your email.
{{first_name}}, excited to explore a collaboration with you and [BRAND]!
Collaboration opportunity! [BRAND] x {{username}}
Let’s partner up! [BRAND] x {{username}}
{{first_name}}, let’s team up? collaboration opportunity with [BRAND]!
{{first_name}}, want to be a [BRAND] partner?
2. Always add a Customisable Parameter to the Subject Line
Make sure to include {{username}} or {{first_name}} in your subject line. This not only makes your email more eye-catching and personal, increasing the chances of it being opened, but it also helps with deliverability.
Without personalisation, your emails are more likely to be flagged as spam - especially if you’re sending multiple emails with the exact same subject line. Google recognises repetitive subject lines as bulk messaging, increasing the risk of landing in the spam folder.
3. Make Sure your Follow-ups stay in the Same Email Thread
To maximise response rates, your first email and follow-ups should always have the same subject line—this keeps everything in one thread, making it easier for influencers to follow the conversation.
However, as per the platform templates, for your second-to-last follow-up, try changing the subject line as a final attempt to grab attention. Since this creates a new thread, be sure to re-add the key details from your first email so they have all the context without needing to search through old messages.
4. Condense the Introduction
Keep your introduction short and to the point. Let them know why you're reaching out, and move quickly to the key points you want to highlight.
5. Shorten the Email Body
No one wants to read a lengthy email. Avoid overwhelming the influencer with unnecessary details. Stick to 3-4 short paragraphs max.
6. Link to Your Website and Socials
Make it easy for the influencer to learn more about your brand by providing links to your website and social media profiles. This not only helps them understand your offerings but also builds trust and credibility, showing you’re a legitimate and professional brand.
7. Use Hyperlinks instead of Naked links
Instead of pasting long URLs, embed hyperlinks to the text. This keeps your email looking clean and professional, while still guiding the influencer to important links.
8. Make It Scannable
People often skim emails, so ensure yours is easy to read. Break your content into short paragraphs, use bullet points, and include headers to make key information stand out.
9. End with a Question
Always end your email with a clear, open ended question. This gives the influencer a clear next step and invites them to respond.
10. Simplify the Sign-Up Process
If your goal is to get the influencer to sign up, provide a clear, simple next step. A link like "Here’s a quick link with more details about the program" will guide them effortlessly through the process.
11. Make your follow ups count
Your follow-ups shouldn’t just repeat your first email—they should add value and keep the conversation engaging. If an influencer hasn’t responded yet, consider what might grab their attention and make them more likely to reply.
Highlight what sets you apart: What makes your brand different from competitors? Do you have a unique selling point, high-quality ingredients, ethical production or celebrity backing? Make sure they know!
Offer an extra incentive: If they didn’t respond to your initial offer, can you sweeten the deal? For example: Would you like to try our product for free?
Try a different approach: If your first emails were formal, try making the follow-up more casual and friendly. Sometimes, a simple, lighthearted approach works better.
