Whitelisting is a powerful way to extend the value of influencer content by turning it into high-performing ads. Instead of just reposting a Story or Reel, whitelisting allows you to run paid ads from the influencer’s handle, targeting specific audiences with content that already has social proof.
SARAL makes this process simple with built-in social listening and usage rights requests that streamline access and permission.
Whitelisting, also known as Creator Licensing, lets your brand:
Run paid ads from the creator’s account (instead of your brand’s page)
Customise the copy, CTA and targeting
Tap into the influencer’s authenticity and audience trust
Whitelisted ads tend to outperform branded ads because they look native and less “salesy”.
SARAL’s Social Listening feature automatically detects when an influencer posts about your brand. From there, you can easily request usage rights for that content:
Head to the Social Listening tab in SARAL to view all posts and stories that SARAL has auto-detected.
Use the search bar to find the influencer whose content you’d like to whitelist.
Under the relevant post, click Request Usage Rights to open the usage rights request form.
In the Purpose dropdown, select Whitelisted Ads Access:
Click Send Usage Rights Request - SARAL will send out the email direct.
Ask after they post: Safer to start with an Influencer who has already collaborated with you. i.e. Driven the most sales or generated strong engagement on their posts
Be specific: Mention what you plan to use the content for (e.g., ads, social proof, landing pages).
Offer something in return: If you’re planning to run ads, you could offer a small flat fee or bonus commission for performance.
Follow up: If there’s no reply within a few days, send a gentle nudge.
Tip: Once you’ve secured access, track whitelisted content separately in SARAL using tags like “Whitelisted.” This helps with reporting and scaling your best-performing creator assets.
